Welcome to the New Gloucester Historical Society Website

Since our town’s founding in 1736, generations have shaped a rich legacy of resilience, community, and character here in Maine’s beautiful countryside. Today, we proudly preserve and share that heritage through captivating exhibits, thoughtful educational programs, and joyful community events that bring our past to life.

Whether you’re a longtime resident, a curious visitor, or simply someone who loves a good story, we invite you to explore, discover, and celebrate New Gloucester’s remarkable history with us.

Completed in 2009, the history barn houses our display of artifacts alongside a focused feature exhibit.
